Negombo deputy mayor arrested with suspicious items at his residence
Negombo Deputy Mayor Mohamad Ansar has been arrested after several suspicious items were discovered at his residence in Negombo.
The arrest was made during a special search operation which is being carried out by police and Air Force personnel in the area since 5pm today (April 27)
Accordingly, a sword and a manna knife were seized from the suspects residence along with 38 mobile phones, during the search.
Further investigations are being carried out by the Meegamuwa Police.
