New board of directors to the Civil Aviation Authority appointed

Minister of Ports and Shipping Arjuna Ranatunge has appointed a new board of directors to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)- the authorizing body for civil air services in Sri Lanka.
The newly elected chairman of CAA, Mohamed Shibly Aziz PC, was also, incidentally, the first chairman of the same organization in 2002, the year when it ceased to be a 'department' and was restyled an 'authority'.
The new deputy chairman is Dr. Lalith Prasanna Perera, and Pasan Madhawa Edusooriya and K. P. A. Tissa de Silva have been appointed members of the board.
M. H. C. Nimalsiri, Director General and CEO of the CAA, Defense secretary D. M. U. B. Basnayake and Director General, Department of State Accounts and treasury representative D. M. Anula Harasgama have been appointed to the board of directors.
The first board meeting is to be held at the Civil Aviation Authority tomorrow.
