New Chairman for NLDB
On the recommendation of President Maithripala Sirisena, Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera has appointed S. A. P Suriyapperuma as the new Chairman of the National Lotteries Development Board.
Mr Suriyapperuma, who had his primary education at the Kandapola Mahinda College, later entered the Poramadulla Central College and Minuwangoda Central College for his secondary education.
He holds an Honors Degree in Business Administration from the Sri Jayewardenepura University.
He began his career as a Management Trainee at Bank of Ceylon, before going onto become a Senior Manager at Seylan Bank and subsequently as a Chief Manager of the Seylan Bank Skylab. He has also held senior positions as Chaiman of the Lanka Cement Company under the Ministry of Indusries, Director of the Samurdhi Authority and Director of the Coconut Development Board.
