New Ambassador-designate of the People's Republic of China to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Mr. Yi Xianliang arrived in Colombothe Chinese Embassy in Colombo said.,
Officials of Sri Lankan Government, representatives of Chinese Companies and Overseas Chinese Association in Sri Lanka, representatives of the friendship associations of Sri Lanka and diplomats of Chinese Embassy warmly welcomed H. E. Mr. Yi Xianliang at the airport.
Yi Xianliang said that China and Sri Lanka are time-tested friends and important partners. he was ready to join hands with Sri Lankan friends to make unremitting efforts to implement the outcomes reached during the state visit by H.E. President Xi Jinping to Sri Lanka last year and push forward the strategic cooperative partnership between China and Sri Lanka.
Ambassador Xianliang is a senior diplomat and expert on international laws. He has worked in the Department of Treaty and Law and the Department of Boundary and Ocean Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and been posted to Chinese Embassy in the Kingdom of Netherlands.
