The railway schedule for the Matara-Beliatta rail route has been released today (April 06).
The new rail track which would run from Matara to Beliatta will be declared open by Transport Minister Arjuna Ranathunga on Monday following which it would be opened for transportation from 2 pm onwards, the Department of Railways noted.
According to the new timetable, the Matara Rajina, Galu Kumari, Sagarika and several other trains which commenced their route from the Matara railway station, will have to commence and end their journey at the Beliatta railway station.
Further, several trains will be operating on a daily basis, the Railways Department said.
