Kalum Palitha Maheerathne has been appointed as the new chairman of the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC) today (Sept 6).
Mr. Maheerathne assumed duties today. Previously Mr Maheerathne, a veteran television personality, served as the working director at the Independent Television Network (ITN).
A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
