The next discussion on forming a new alliance between the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) and Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) will be held on March 14, MP Thilanga Sumathipala said.
"SLPP Chairman Professor G.L. Peiris, and the party's chief organiser Dallas Alahapperuma will take part in talks with SLFP General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekara, former General Secretary Professor Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa and myself," Mr. Sumathipala added.
He also noted that the members of both parties had expressed great enthusiasm towards forming the alliance.
MP Sumathipala made these remarks during a press briefing at his residence in Borella today (Mar 07).

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
