The proscribed National Thowheed Jamath group's Colombo District Organiser has been granted bail after he was arrested in the aftermath of the April 21 terrorist attacks.
Mohamed Fawas, was taken into custody along with some posters, pen drives, and phones containing sermons delivered by the NTJ group in Keselwatte on April 28.
Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne today (Jul 15) released the suspect on two surety bails of Rs 500,000 each after considering a letter by the Attorney General (AG) stating that there was no objection to release him on bail.
The AG had said so after considering the outcome of the investigations which have been carried out on the suspect so far.
Accordingly, court decided to reconvene the case on September 24.
