The number of foreign nationals who had succumbed to death following yesterday's multiple explosions stands at 30 as at 7 pm today (Apr 22), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
The victims include one each from Bangladesh, France, Japan, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and two victims each from China, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. Meanwhile, two victims have been identified as dual citizens of UK and US while two others are dual citizens of Australia and Sri Lanka.
Also among the victims are eight nationals from India and six UK nationals.
"Additionally, 14 foreign nationals are unaccounted for at present, and could be among the unidentified victims at the Colombo Judicial Medical Officer’s mortuary," the Ministry said.
Meanwhile, 17 foreign nationals who were injured in the attacks are currently being treated at the Colombo National Hospital and a private hospital in Colombo while the others have been discharged following receiving treatment.
