The Finance Ministry has announced that the price of a litre of Octane 92 petrol will increase by Rs 03 and would stand at Rs 138.
However, the prices of three other types of fuel namely Octane 95, Super Diesel, and Auto Diesel will remain unchanged, the Finance Ministry noted.
According to the Finance Ministry, a fuel hike was not introduced last month to avoid inconveniencing the public during the Vesak festival season.
The Ministry further said that the consumers will reap benefits if the prices of fuel continue to drop in the world market/
