One individual died while two others were injured when an elevator malfunction caused a lift to crash down from a building owned by Green Lanka (Pvt) in Slave Island yesterday (Dec 28).
The victims were reported to have used the lift to reach the ninth floor of the building when the lift had suddenly malfunctioned causing it to crash down towards the basement.
According to the police, the victim who succumbed to death has been identified as a 24-year old resident of Battaramulla.
