Newly appointed Opposition Leader R. Sampanthan has opposed the move to increase the Cabinet, he said this in Parliament adding that it was against the principles of good governance. Addressing Parliament after being named Opposition Leader for the first time Mr. Sampanthan said that in India there were only 65 Ministers and 38 State Ministers despite the fact that the population of India is 1.2 billion.
During his address in Parliament Sampanthan said that he accepts the post of Opposition Leader with humility and said that he looks to work closely with all parties.You can share this post!

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
