Two suspects; a Sri Lankan and a Pakistani national, were arrested by the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) in Wellawatte today (28) with heroin worth Rs 15 million.
The raid was conducted based on a tip-off given to the PNB. The Pakistani national had only arrived in the country on Friday (27), according to police.
The Pakistani suspect is 59 years of age while the Sri Lankan is 51 years old.
The suspects are due to be produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate's Court. Police hope to question them after obtaining a seven day detention order.
Further investigations are being conducted by the PNB.
