Parliament convened this morning (21) to hold a one-day debate on President Gotabaya Rajapaksa's Statement of Government Policy.
Parliament sessions commenced at 9.30am today. The debate on the Statement of Government Policy was moved by newly elected Matara District Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Nipuna Ranawaka.
The debate will continue till 4.30pm today.
Meanwhile, Parliament will also meet on August 27 and 28 from 9.30am to 6.30pm on both days.
The Government is also to present a Vote on Account to bear expenses for the period from September 1 until the relevant budget for the 2020 is passed.
