President Maithripala Sirisena has said that the lives of the people would become much better by mid-2019 owing to the government's campaign on eradicating narcotics.
He made these remarks during a meeting held at the Hambantota Administrative Complex along with members of the 'Grama Shakthi' operational committee.
During the meeting, the President had pointed out that the main objective of the Grama Shakthi Movement is to enrich the lives of people who are sufferring economically.
Mr. Sirisena also told officials at the meeting that the Grama Shakthi Movement had already taken measures to assist the people in forming a strong society in terms of its economy.
The President had proceeded to say that the government would take measures to resolve the problems faced by workers owing to the micro finance loans that they had obtained.
