Minister Navin Dissanayake has said that a special allowance of Rs 50 will be given to plantation workers from May 1 onwards.
A proposal would be put forward in this regard during next week's cabinet meeting, the Minister of Plantation Industries said.
He made these remarks while addressing a press briefing at the parliamentary complex a short while ago.
