The Prime Minister and the Opposition Leader will deliver special statements during tomorrow's Parliament session from 1 pm to 2 pm, the Speakers Office said today.
This was announced during a party leaders meeting which was held at the Speaker's Office this afternoon to discuss about the current situation of the country.
Instructions were issued to IGP Pujith Jayasundara who had attended today's meeting to provide the maximum possible protection to the public.
Further, it was also decided to conduct a debate on the gazette which would see the inclusion of certain prevention of terrorism clauses to the Emergency Regulations. The debate will take in Parliament from 10 am and will continue until 4 pm on April 24.
Meanwhile, an urgent meeting was held between the members of the Parliamentary Committee on National Unity under the chairmanship of the Speaker this afternoon.
Parliamentarians Gamini Jayawickrama Perera, John Amaratunga, Rauff Hakeem, Abdul Haleem, Mano Ganesan, Gayantha Karunathilaka, Thalatha Athukorale, Douglas Devananda, and Vijitha Herath had attended this meeting.
The parliamentary committee had also decided to conduct an all party-conference on April 26 at 3 pm with the attendance of all party leaders at the Parliament, the Speaker's office said.
