Police yesterday (July 31) arrested a suspect in connection with the murder of a mother and her son in a house in Kilinochchi.
The lacerated bodies of a woman and her son who were killed were discovered inside their home in Jayanthi Nagar, Kilinochchi on Tuesday (July 30).
The murdered victims were identified as Vishnu Gandhi Walliamma (70) and her son Vishnu Gandhi Vigneswaran (34).
Upon interrogation of the suspect, police recovered a cellphone from a well in the area and a steel wire suspected to have been used in the killing.
Police is conducting probes into the incident and the suspect is to be produced before Courts in Kilinochchi.
