On the instructions of the IGP, leave of all Police personnel of all ranks has been canceled with immediate effect until further notice, Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekara said.
Meanwhile, IGP Pujith Jayasundara met with newly appointed Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa at the latter‘s residence last night.
The meeting took place just hours after Mr Rajapaksa was sworn in as Prime Minister before President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat.
