Police teams have been deployed in Kiri-ella and Eheliyagoda areas in search for the COVID-19 infected woman who escaped the Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH) on Thursday (19) night with her toddler son, Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.
He said the woman was arrested over drug offences and was detained at the remand prison where she was tested positive for the virus. Both she and her two and a half year old son were being treated at the IDH Hospital.
After escaping the woman has handed over the child to a relative in Eheliyagoda and gone missing.
