The Department of Posts states that postal services in districts where curfew has been lifted will resume from tomorrow (21) while postal deliveries will commence from Wednesday (22).
Postmaster General Ranjith Ariyaratne however, notes that there would be delays in the circulation of postal items until transport services in the country return to normal. Post offices will also not accept foreign postage until further notice owing to air and shipping journeys remain suspended.
The Postal Department appeals to the public to comply with requests made by post office staff in accordance with the directions given by the health sector when handing over letters and parcels to post offices and sub post offices.
