Power failures have been reported in several areas in the country owing to a technical fault in the second unit of the Norochcholai coal power plant.
The technical failure at the power plant was reported at 11 am, a senior official at the Ministry of Power and Energy told Times Online.
He added that a special team of experts are currently investigating into the matter inorder to determine the cause of the failure and to rectify this issue.
The official said repairs could lead to further power interuptions and those areas would be announced in due course.
