Mobile phones will be banned at cabinet meetings, President Maithripala Sirisena said yesterday (March 12).
President Sirisena made these remarks regarding mobile phone usage at yesterday's cabinet discussion which took place at the Parliamentary complex.
It is reported that the President had made this decision since certain ministers were seen responding or making calls during cabinet meetings.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe had also acknowledged this move, sources say.
