President Maithripala Sirisena has congratulated Indian Premier Narendra Modi on his re-election to office, today (May 23).
"Congratulations on your victory and the peoples' re-endorsement of your leadership," the President said on his official Twitter handle.
Mr. Sirisena added that Sri Lanka looks forward to contine "the warm and constructive relationship with India in the future".

Meanwhile, Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa also expressed his wishes to the re-elected Indian Premier.
The former President, on his Twitter handle, expressed hope of building on the "strong bilateral relationship" between Sri Lanka and India to acheive mutual benefits.
"We wish you and the people of India the very best under your dynamic leadership, as you continue your journey in taking India forward," the Opposition Leader noted.
