President Maithripala Sirisena recalled Sri Lankan Ambassador to Austria and five other embassy staff for failing to respond to his calls.
Ambassador Priyanee Wijesekera was given marching orders after calls made by Sirisena to the embassy in Vienna last week went "unanswered for several hours," an official source told AFP.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs according to the report confirmed the recall.
The Sri Lankan embassy in Austria is also accredited to UN agencies in Vienna as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech republic, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
