The bilateral meeting between President Maithripala Sirisena and the Prime Minister of Qatar Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani was held yesterday.
According to the government news portal the Qatari Premier met President Sirisena.
The two leaders discussed bilateral relations between the two countries.President Sirisena briefed the Qatari Premier about the investment opportunities in Sri Lanka in the fields of power and energy, the statement said.
The President stated the new agreements, signed during this visit will further increase the economic, commercial and technical cooperation between the two countries.
President Sirisena invited the Qatari Premier to pay a visit to Sri Lanka. The Premier who accepted the invitation said it will further strengthen the relations between Sri Lanka and Qatar.
