Presidential Commission of Inquiry probing the Bond issue today re-issued summons on former Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake to appear before the Commission tomorrow (26).
The commission earlier issued a summons on the former Finance Minister ordering him to appear before the Commission today. However, his lawyers had informed today that the Minister was unable to appear before the Commission today, whereupon the fresh summons was issued.
Minister Karunanayake's scheduled appearance tomorrow comes after revelations that the Minister and his family had leased out a luxury apartment at Monarch Residencies for eight months, with a monthly rental of Rs.1.45 million, which had been paid by Arjun Aloysius of Perpetual Treasuries Ltd (PTL).
Primary Dealer Perpetual Treasuries Ltd (PTL) is under probe by the Commission regarding the controversial Treasury Bond issue and Arjun Aloysius,is a key witness in the case.
