Presidential Secretariat issues gazette confirming resignation of ministers

The President's Secretary has issued a gazette notification confirming the resignation of four ministers, four state ministers and a deputy minister recently.

The gazette dated yesterday (Jun 7) notes that the state officials had resigned under Article 46 (3) (B) which means that the resignation letters had been handed over to the President.

Accordingly, the ministers who resigned from their portfolios with the respective dates are as follows;

Ministers

• Rauff Hakeem - Minister of City Planning, Water Supply and Higher Education (03/06/2019)
• Rishad Bathiudeen - Minister of Industry & Commerce, Resettlement of Protracted Displaced Persons and Co-operative Development and Vocational Training & Skills Development (03/06/2019)
• Kabir Hashim - Minister of Highways & Road Development and Petroleum Resources Development (04/06/2019)
• Abdul Haleem Mohomad - Minister of Postal Services & Muslim Religious Affairs (03/06/2019)

State Ministers

• Faizal Cassim - State Minister of Health, Nutrition & Indigenous Medicine
• Harees Mohamed Habeeb - State Minister of Provincial Councils & Local Government
• Ameer Ali - State Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Rural Economic Affairs
• Seyed Ali Zahir Moulana - State Minister of Social Empowerment
