Congress Party President Rahul Gandhi called on Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in New Delhi. According to media reports by ANI, Chairperson of the United Progressive Alliance, Sonia Gandhi was also present during the meeting along with former Prime Minster Dr Manmohan Singh and Senior Congress Party Leader Anand Sharma.
PM Wickremesinghe arrived in India today for a three-day official visit. He is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi tomorrow (October 20).
Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
