Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne who was due to appear before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) probing state sector corruption today (Sept 19) will appear tomorrow owing to a special cabinet meeting convened today by the President.
Minister Rajitha Senaratne was informed to appear before the Police unit of the PCoI over a complaint concerning the Dr Neville Fernando Hospital.
He was expected to arrive at the police unit at 1:30 pm to give evidence over a complaint alleging that the government has been incurring expenses on behalf of the hospital without acquiring it.
The Government Medical Officer's Association (GMOA)'s General Secretary Dr. Haritha Aluthge had filed the complaint in this regard at the PCoI which is investigating state sector corruption under the current government.
