A provincial Road Development Authority (RDA) official was interdicted after he allegedly assaulted a female employee working in his office.
This was after the video containing the assault incident was widely circulated on social media.
The officer who was interdicted is the Chief Engineer RDA Western Province office in Udugampola of the Gamapaha district.
State Minister of Rural Roads and other Infrastructure, Nimal Lanza told Parliament that an investigation will be carried out on the officer.
Earlier police arrested the officer and produced him in courts. He was granted bail.
