The Road Development Authority (RDA) said that measures have been taken to remove all unauthorized billboards and posters along the Southern Expressway.
The decision to remove these posters and bill boards was made with the motive of curbing the number of motor accidents.
Meanwhile, the Urban Development Authority (UDA) has taken measures to brief the relevant local authorities in the area regarding this decision, UDA Director Saman Opanayake said.
He pointed out that the regulations to put up advertisments only beyond 60 metres from both sides of the reservation of the expressway have been unheeded.
