Rebuilt Kilinochchi market declared open

A section of the shops at the Kilinochchi market complex which were destroyed due to a fire that swept through it on September 16 was reopened on Tuesday (8) after being rebuilt. Northern Province Chief Minister C.V. Vigneswaran opened and handed over 45 shops which were rebuilt to shopkeepers. 

The fire destroyed over 100 shops at the complex and most of the goods in them were also destroyed. Chief Minister Vigneswaran assured those present that all shops too would be rebuilt and handed over to their owners.  

Tamil National Alliance (TNA) Kilinochchi District MP S. Shridaran was also present on the occasion.
