The Education Ministry has decided to distribute robotic equipment worth Rs 419 million across 84 schools from today (Jul 29), Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said.
He explained that although robotics was introduced into the school curriculum, students did not have the necessary equipment and text books for this subject.
Accordingly, both equipment and text books would be distributed among national and provincial schools, the Education Minister noted.
He further added that around 50 labs are to be constructed across government schools countrywide to facilitate practical sessions of this subject.
