The Appeal Court's decision to reject the petition against the dual citizenship certificate of presidential candidate Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has been challenged at the Supreme Court.
Civil activists Gamini Veyangoda, and Professor Chandragupta Thenuwara moved court today (Nov 13) challenging the Appeal Court's decision to reject their petition.
A three-member Appeal Court judge bench led by its President Yasantha Kodagoda had rejected the petition last month.
The civil activists argued that the dual citizenship certificate of Rajapaksa had been issued by former President Mahinda Rajapaksa in 2005 when a cabinet of ministers was not functioning.
