A Fundamental Rights (FR) petition filed by former United people's freedom Alliance (UPFA) parliamentarian Sajin de Vass Gunawardena challenging his arrest and detention was rejected by the Supreme Court today. The petition was seeking the the Supreme Court to instruct the Fort Magistrate Court to release him on bail. Mr Gunawardena was charged over misusing vehicles attached to the Presidential Secretariat.
