Sanga refutes claims of entering politics

Cricketer Kumar Sangakkara today rejected rumours that he is planning entering politics, taking to his official Facebook page and posting a message to say the stories were completely baseless and are just irresponsible rumours. The FB post read as follows

Hi – Thanks all for your messages of support after the last game. It was a good victory for us. Thiri played an outstanding knock. I have been told by friends that once again rumours are circulating about me entering politics. These stories are completely baseless and are just irresponsible rumours. As I have stated in the past, I have absolutely no interest in entering politics now or in the future. Please just ignore these stories.
