Hambantota, Ambalantota, Mirijjawila and suburbs were under tight police and STF security yesterday following the tense situation which arose on Saturday during the signing of the Sri Lanka - China logistics industrial zone agreement in Hambantota, local media reported.
Several people injured during Saturday’s tense situation are still receiving treatment at the Hambantota Hospital yesterday.
Meanwhile, Thirty eight persons arrested under the charges of damaging public property in Hambantota were remanded till today. Of the suspects, another 13 were remanded till January 11 under the same charges.
