The Pakistan High Commission in collaboration with the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka, is holding an International Seminar on ‘Buddhist and Gandhara Civilization: The Cultural Nexus between Pakistan and Sri Lanka’ at Main Auditorium of the Buddhist & Pali University, Homagama on March 11, 2019, a statement from the High Commission said.
Eminent scholars from China, Germany, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be participating in this International Seminar to elucidate the audience with their thoughts and knowledge.
Pakistan has been the cradle of Buddhist art and culture and the second holy land of Buddhism. The advent and development of Buddhism owes a great deal to the ancient land of Pakistan. It was here that the religious activities reached its climax through well-organized missionaries and ultimately made it a world religion.
