Senior DIG of the Sabaragamuwa Province Chandana Wickramaratne has been appointed as the acting Inspector General of Police.
The services of IGP Pujith Jayasundara have been temporarily suspended until the conclusion of the investigations concerning the terror attacks.
Meanwhile, Solicitor General President's Counsel Dappula de Livera was appointed as the Acting Attorney General by President Maithripala Sirisena this afternoon.
The post of Attorney General which was held by Jayantha Jayasuriya fell vacant after he took oaths before President as the Chief Justice.
In addition, Former DIG N.K. Ilangakoon was appointed as the advisor to the Defence Ministry today.
