Seven Indian fishermen were nabbed by the Navy along with a fishing trawler in the seas off Talaimannar yesterday (Jul 28), Navy said.
Naval officers attached to the Northern Naval Command had apprehended the suspects during a patrol. The fishermen had then been brought to the naval base of the Command.
According to the Navy, the suspects have been identified as those between the ages of 18 and 36. They are due to be handed over to the Assistant Director of Fisheries in Mannar after a medical examination.
