Prevailing showery conditions are likely to enhance, particularly in Northern, Eastern, North-central and Uva provinces, and also in the sea areas around the island particularly in eastern and southern sea areas, the Department of Meteorology said today.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Northern, North-central, Eastern, Uva and Central provinces and in the Hambantota district. Showers or thundershowers will occur elsewhere particularly after 2.00 pm.
Heavy showers (more than 100 mm) are likely at some places, particularly in the Northern, Eastern, Central and Uva provinces. There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
