Six local fishermen held for illegal fishing

News

Naval personnel attached to Mannar in North Central Naval Area, arrested six local fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing activities using unauthorized fishing nets in the seas off Erukkulampiddi Point yesterday,Navy said.

Along with the suspects 2 dinghies and 6 monofilament nets were also taken into custody. The apprehended persons and items were produced to Mannar Assistant Director of Fisheries for onward action.
