Speaker Karu Jayasuriya's younger daughter passes away
Speaker Karu Jayasuriya's younger daughter, Sanjeewani Indira Jayasuriya Dicker passed away in London last evening. She was 40 years of age at the time of her death.
An old girl of St. Bridget's Convent and Devi Balika Vidyalaya in Colombo, Mrs. Jayasuriya had obtained a Master's Degree in Economics from the University of Bradford and a PhD in Economics from the London School of Economics.
She had worked in several UK institutions in a managerial capacity and was serving as a Senior Sales Manager at the time of her death.
A mother of two children, Mrs. Jayasuriya was married to Mr. Martyn Dicker, a British national.
The funeral will be held in the UK in line with her final wishes.
