A special traffic plan will be implemented around the Bandaranayake International Airport, local media reported.
Police said the special traffic plan will come into effect from 3 p.m. to 9 a.m. daily, for four months.
The airport is undergoing major renovation - including to its runway - beginning January 6. The renovation is expected to end in April.
To enable renovation, the main runway will be closed for eight hours from 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m each day.
