A programme initiated by the Department of National Community Water Supply to supply clean drinking water to 1000 villages across 25 districts, will commence tomorrow (Mar 01).
The aim of the project is to provide clean drinking water for the next 10 years to villages where pipe water cannot be provided.
Issuing a media release, the Ministry of City Planning and Water Supply said that the project will be completed in a year with a total estimate of Rs 10 billion and is expected to benefit 500,000 people.
The project would be launched tomorrow under the patronage of Minister Rauff Hakeem and State Minister Lucky Jayawardena.
