The 10th COVID-19 death was reported this evening after a 51-year-old woman died from the disease.
Director General of Health Services, Dr Anil Jasinghe stated that the victim was a recent returnee from Kuwait who was at a quarantine facility in Trincomalee.
She has been confirmed as a COVID-19 patient.
The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
