Two Sri Lankan ships left for India yesterday (Sept 5) to participate in the Sri Lanka Navy and Indian Navy Exercise (SLINEX 2019), Navy said.
Captain Nalin Nawarathna and Captain Sanjeewa Premarathna would serve as the Commanding Officers of the ships which are due to reach Indian shores tomorrow.
According to the Navy, the joint naval exercise will be held in India from September 7 to 12 and would be attended by 323 Sri Lankan Navy officers. The exercise features wide ranging naval exercises including helicopter operations, Navy added.
