Sri Lankan Airlines has cancelled its scheduled flights to Karachchi and Lahore after Pakistan temporarily closed its airspace amid rising regional tension. However, other flights will remain unaffected.
Accordingly flights scheduled for Lahore and Karachi on Thursday Feb 28, 2019 have been cancelled.
In a statement issued by the airline it said passengers booked to fly to Karachi and Lahore should contact their travel agents or visit www.srilankan.com for further information.
The airline said it was closely monitoring the situation and is in constant touch with respective authorities on this matter while it regretted the inconvenience.
Pakistan closed its airspace amid apparent incursions by Indian aircraft into the country and claims by Pakistan that at least two aircraft had been shot down.
