A sick-leave protest by teachers today has crippled work in schools in most parts of the country.
Teacher unions also are staging a protest opposite the Education Ministry in Colombo against the failure of the government to resolve an issue about the salary anomalies.
Due to the protest a major a traffic block has been created near the Pelawatta Junction The protest has been organized by principals and teacher trade unions.
In some of the schools the attendance of students also showed a sharp drop.
The protest is organized regarding 06 demands including a demand to clear salary anomalies.
